Today It's About More Than Just Recycled Paper
Five years ago recycled paper was up to 50% more expensive than virgin paper. Today prices have come down, and are now virtually the same as comparable non-recycled sheets.Paper
East Coast Media's "house" sheet is recycled thereby making it more available to all its customers. In addition we have countless other brands available and will always take the time to present and educate our customers on them - don't hesitate to ask when selecting a sheet what the recycled content is. Some papers are made with 100% renewable green energy, Green-e-certified, Green Seal certified and 100% post consumer fiber paper made from sustainable raw materials... meaning no new trees were used while conserving natural resources and protecting wildlife habitat.Chemicals
In addition to paper we have reduced our impact to the environment by completely changing our production processes. Over the past three years we have updated our equipment to reduce the need for harmful chemicals, and today our plant is virtually chemical free.Ink
The ink we print with is Vegetable Based and is made from a blend of vegetable oils minimizing VOC's (volatile organic compounds).Posters
Our meeting and events team developed a poster product that is made of nearly 100% recycled paper and board. Since foam core is not made from recycled material, NOR is it recyclable, our product is an ideal alternative. Interested in seeing a sample? just let us know.Recycling
East Coast Media recycles nearly 20 tons of top quality paper per month (that's a lot of trimmings). If you need a place to drop your waste paper, stop by anytime to do so. We also recycle all the aluminum plates that we use in the printing process.
Incorporating environmental practices into your business doesn't happen overnight, but being 'green' offers a competitive advantage and helps strengthen your brand.
